Erika Eriksson Ciment launched her own label (Erika Eriksson) in 1988, after working for several years as a designer, stylist and patternmaker for a wide range of Montreal clothing manufacturers and travelling extensively for research in Europe and the Far East.
In 1991 she decided to concentrate on children's apparel, designing and producing her own line of high-end children's clothing for the North American market. She set up her own showroom in New York City in 1997. Her creations sold in better boutiques across Canada and the United States and in many American department stores such as Barneys New York, Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Marshall Field’s, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue, which devoted the cover of its first childrenswear catalogue to her.
Since the spring of 2007 Erika Eriksson produces made-to-measure lawyers’ robes and other courtwear with the same attention to detail and workmanship as she applied to her childrens’ creations.
